Blaze had finished patroling much of the territoy to find no intruders or dangers. The gray she-wolf found a break in the trees where sunlight filtered down to where she was. It had been snowing all day, but this sheltered forest kept much of the flakes of cold ice away from the ground. She lay down on the soft pine needles and started to doze off in the sun.
